Sometime last week in VA four students were suspended from a 3rd grade class. These 4 students had planned to kill their teacher, map and weapons included. The teacher supposedly told the children not to stand on their chairs. The students of this VA school went out to the store and bought numerous "unlikely weapons". One had bought a rock to hit the teacher over the head and knock her out, one brought in rope to tie her down on a chair, and lastly one brought in a knife to stab the teacher. Isn't this a little out of the ordinary coming from 3RD GRADERS?! Like come on, I believe that there have had to been another older person, maybe another age group throughout the school or something, because this is just unreal. When i was in 3rd grade I did not even think about hurting someone. Like what is this world coming too? My older cousin who recently just graduated from college and is now a 2nd grade teacher up near TCNJ was telling me of how when she use to student teach in the bad parts of NJ ( if you know what I'm talking about ) that a fight broke out while she was there student teaching and one of the younger boys said to this little innocent girl " if you don't shut up right now I'm bringing my gun into school tomorrow and shooting you". This just absolutely blew my mind. How to children this day and age come up with this stuff? Do you think its the way they were brought up? Are they learning this from their parents? Just CRAZY.

OCC test site helps those trying for GED
Students working to get their GED are taking advantage of a new test site set up two years ago at OCC. The center was set up to make it more convenient for those working to complete their high school education to take the test. The pass-fail rate is the 4th best in the state. In the past, people were waiting up to eight weeks to take the test, and many had to travel outside the county. As an OCC student I am glad that I did not have to go outside the county to take a test to get into a COUNTY school. I am also excited that the school carries the GED;having a GED is important for anyone seeking a better job. It is much more convenient to have the testing right on the college campus. There the students will be familiar with the college campus, and the college's surroundings.
Central Regional- a new superintendent
Central Regional will start doing its rounds of interviewing the week of April 28th! The board is looking to replace David Trethaway, the district's superintendent for the last six years, who is leaving to become superintendent of the kindergarten-through-12th-grade Manchester school district. This upsets me a little, although i have graduated from that school i LOVED Mr. Trethaway. He had helped my family and I so much during April of 2006, when my brother had gotten into a horrible car accident right out side of the school before the beginning of spring break. Mr. Trethaway did a lot for Central Regional so we will see if this new guy will do any good. I hope that Mr. Trethaway will do the same good deeds at Manchester Schools as he did at Central.
autism-the color blue
Last Wednesday, the color blue was spread cheerfully throughout a learning center in Brick township. The color blue — along with a puzzle piece — represents the international symbol for autism. The color blue was not only shown through this learning center, but through schools and hospitals through the world-events took place with the primary purpose of raising autism awareness. This day was to show that everyone is different and equal in their own way. Children throughout their community got together worked and played together — such as constructing puzzles and listening to book readings. The puzzle pieces represents everyone working together. I think that this is an excellent idea. My mother, who is a teachers aid for kids with autism says that it is a very rewarding job. She always comes home knowing that she has helped the lives of the children and their families.
FBI search in Jackson
The FBI executed a search warrant at 14 North Hope Chapel Road in Jackson. About 10 law enforcement vehicles, including FBI and unmarked cars, were at the scene. The house and the backyard at 14 North Hope Chapel Road are being searched by FBI agents and other law enforcement personnel. I would expect this in like the Bronx or some other ghetto state but JACKSON The FBI arrested one person the other morning after completing a raid at 14 North Hope Chapel road shortly after 10 a.m.. Police did not identify the man, but Frank Williams, 47, who lives at the address, said the man arrested was his brother. He declined to give his brother's name, but said the FBI seized his brother's computer. The house is owned by Frank and Jean Williams, whom Frank Williams identified as his parents. Frank Williams said he and his two brothers, along with a girlfriend of one of the brothers, lives at the home. William's mother Jean began experiencing chest pain during the raid, and was transported to a nearby hospital. Don't you find this a little fishy? That the mother just happened to go to the hospital the same excat time tha raid had occurred? Sounds like a "gang sweep" to me.
Wawa "fight" moves to the web
The battle to stop a 24-hour convenience store from being built on the edge of a residential area has moved to the internet. The Internet-based petition against the proposed construction of a Wawa convenience store and gas station has gathered more than 100 supporters. People are complaining because this is about 50 feet from a residential area. In my opinion, i agree that this Wawa should not be build so close to this residential area. People who live near by can be poisoned by leaks and fumes. Why risk hurting other people and families for a stupid gas station and a convenient store? There are plenty of other places to pick up coffee and gas!
new state liquor license software- a failure
New Jersey's Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control track liquor licenses does not work. The state has already spent over $600,000 on a software program that does not even work! What is the point in this anyway? This is the reason why New Jersey has 200 more state workers for every 10,000 of population than Pa has because NJ workers just do not think. I think the people that invested all this money in this software should have put a little more time and effort into researching more information into validated the software before recommending purchasing it.

New 5 Dollar Bill's "Counterfeit Proof"
The government has just released a new "counterfeit proof" 5 dollar bill into circulation. Now i ask, is there really a need for this? Who is seriously gonna counterfeit 5 dollars? Our country is in the middle of a big economic problem so shouldn't the government be trying to figure out how to help people make money so we can get out of debt instead of worrying about making new money. If you really do research on our economy and look below the surface you'll find out that the worst counterfeiters in America is the government. Our country is constantly makin new money in the mints and we don't have the gold to back it which is why our country is in an economic problem to begin with. So in essence, the new bill is already counterfeit as is most money in circulation in our economy, but as long as it was printed by the government then it's not a problem right?
Money Is Freedom
This Tuesday, a 15 year old girl in our town was found raped and dead in the basement of her house. Police have arrested her 25 year old cousin and he was charged with rape and murder and set on a $500,000 bail. Meanwhile in Philadelphia on the 4Th 3 men were charged with armed robbery and given a $200,000 bail. The problem i see with this is that the law is basically saying that if you try to rob someone at gunpoint and you do no physical harm to them then your gonna have to pay $200,000 for your freedom which in all is fair because you didn't harm anyone and might not have had an intentions to do so all you did was commit robbery and used a weapon as a threat not as a way of harm. Now we look at the case of this girl who was raped and murdered at 15 and the murderer only has to pay $300,000 more for his freedom then the armed robbers. So the law is basically saying that a life is only worth $300,000. I feel that there should be now bail for committing such a terrible crime anyone who takes a life should have to pay with either a jail sentence of a death sentence not a sum of money. If money can't buy you love than why should it be able to buy you freedom.

Heath Ledger, an amazing, very popular actor died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs. Heath's toxicology report was released and they found that he died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs that included painkillers, sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication. "The drugs are the generic names for the OxyContin painkiller, the anti-anxiety drug Valium, Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug, and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom. Hydrocodone is another name for ibuprofen." These prescribed drugs were founds throughout his house, in the bathroom and his bedroom. His funeral was private with just family and friends. Family had asked if the can grieve in peace without the intrusions associated with press and photography.
Out of the few movies that i have seen this month, i must say the "27 Dresses" should get two thumbs up. It was cute, yet not so much a chick flick, cause trust me all my guy friends went to go see it. It relates to real life and how the perfect day should be so perfect. The main actress had played an amazing role, she was always planning other peoples weddings as you could tell by her closet because she was invited to every single one that she had helped planned out and kept every single dress that she had ever been in. She is in love with her boss, then her sister comes home and destroys her whole life pretty much by dating then marring to her one love. Of coarse her sister insists on her help to make her wedding as perfect as it could be. As jealous as the one sister was she continued to help her sister in her "faithful marriage". As soon as the plans and the preparation became over-whelming, she blew up on her sister and ruined her big day. At the wedding reception she had shown pictures of her sister in numerous lies and all of her " boy toys". As you know, the wedding was off and the sister was miserable as the other sister was happy because she wound up FINALLY kissing the man that she thought was her everything and there was not one spark during the romantic kiss.
Pope Benedict has made the "thou- shall-not" list longer for the catholics. Genetic manipulation, pollution, mind-bending drugs: They are among the issues the Vatican is focusing on as it looks at what constitutes a sin. Drugs, pollution and DNA are now stated on the list. The original deadly sins include lust, gluttony and greed. The Catholic Church says pollution, mind-damaging drugs and genetic experiments are on its updated thou-shalt-not list. Last year, the Vatican addressed the problem of highway accidents, issuing a kind of "Ten Commandments" for drivers against the sins of road rage, alcohol abuse and even rudeness behind the wheel. This is really the continued process of massive mind control and the church ought to be talking about how to create value in ones life instead of telling people how they should live. The truth is WE ARE ALL GODS and the church would never want anyone to realize that truth.
Monday, March 10, 2008 in Westchester NJ, a young teen was caught with marijuana ( or a blunt/joint) by his father. The young teen said that he had bought it in his schools library for $20. The school suspended the young teen for 9 weeks. The school wouldn't have known that the teen had the marijuana if the father did not go to the school about it.Many of his neighbors heard the case and believe the suspension is too long and they've begun a petition asking school officials to reconsider. No further news was found on this article.
ABC news had just stated that Governor Spitzer has been linked to a high-end prostitution ring."There are published reports that Governor Spitzer has hired a top New York City law firm to help him navigate this crisis. This is a stunning twist for a man who at one time, appeared to be destined to run for the White House. Now, Eliot Spitzer is fighting for his political survival.Democrats were flummoxed by today's news. Sources for both parties agreed Spitzer has got to go. A Spitzer resignation would make, Lieutenant Governor David Paterson, the former state senator from Harlem, would be the state's first African-American governor.
Over the past month i have went to see a couple of movies, one of which was absolutely horrible. The movie Cloverfield. This had no good script reasoning, no climax and it was just BORING! The actors and actresses did not know what they were doing, it was like they had grabbed people off the street to make this film. I suggest that no one spends nine dollars a ticket to watch this pointless, horrible movie.

OK so today i was sitting in the doctors office waiting for the doctor. So i grabbed some old magazine that was lying on the table and began to look for articles that would interest me. As i came half way through the book there was nothing in there AT ALL. as i was about to shut the magazine a picture caught my eye. A myspace logo, and above that a blogger logo. As uninterested as the article appeared i quickly scammed through a few paragraphs. Nothing was specifically said about just blogger but about all "journals" like myspace, flickr, smugmug, icq and yahoo. Our personal lives are being shown and is being collected to everyone, everywhere , online and off line. The government stated that " The Information Age has arrived...". These sites, or so called journals are easily distributed to multiple recipients via, the use of multi-media messaging services. Lastly, it also stated that our unlinked identity is being linked and our unstructured information is being structured.

This weekend at work the chef and the managers were explaining to all the servers how the economy is getting really bad. Worse than what we think. Three restaurants throughout town have already closed. Basil T's in fact is doing great. Our sales have been staying steady and i can not complain about being slow or in need for extra money. I guess you can say acting professional and knowing everything about the place isn't so bad at all!

This morning in my math class this morning my professor decided to do a little review to make sure everyone understood the material. Now let me remind you that my professor is always trying to help us out, but i do not think he even knows how to do it! Everytime we do a problem on the board there is always students correcting him. He is always skipping a step or missing a number, how are we suppose to learn if we know more than him?!

As i did my identi-kit this week i realized how many interests i had. I posted that I love the beach and the summer, I represented a Cars sticker, because that is my favorite movie of all time. I also added my favorite picture from High School- my senior prom! Lastly I added my favorite perfume by Clinque. Although it was such a small paper I wish I could have added some of my personalty traits such as a symbol of working out and how I deck myself out with accessories.
